NWA/IZW RESULTS FROM 6/02/09 @ THE SETS in Tempe, AZ

Announcer Johnny Roxx & NWA Representative Greg DeMarco came out to start the TV tapings, and were joined by Johnny Manson. Manson mocked DeMarco, then grabbed the mic and declared that he loves IZW, and stated that the NWA “sucks.” This brought out Derick Neikirk and GQ Gallo,who bullied Manson around. Neikirk then invited any member of the IZW roster to come out and join their cause, which brought out Tyson Tyler! Manson’s nemesis seemed like a perfect fit to join the NWA enforcers, except Tyler showed his intentions to stick with IZW, coming to the rescue of Manson! Neikirk informed Tyler that he “signed his death wish,” and challenged Manson & Tyler to a tag team match. DeMarco immediately made the match official, forcing Johnny Roxx to announce it as a main event to the fans.

Match #1 – Lucha Star Reigns pinned Dom “The Bomb” Vitalli following Sliced Burrito #2.

Match #2 – “The Limited Edition” Tommy Drake pinned Frenchy Rivera after hitting a Straightjacket Neckbreaker.

Match #3 – “El Mariachi” Sergio Vega defeated “Miracle” Mike James after a cheap chop block to the knee and a quick roll-up in the third match in their Best of 5 Series, which Vega leads 2-1.

Match #4 – NWA Enforcers, the "Elite Extremists" Derick Neikirk & GQ Gallo defeated Johnny Manson & Tyson Tyler (dubbed “The BFF Express”) when
Neikirk pinned Tyler following “Tradition Enforced” (a double team Slingshot into a Side Russian Legsweep).

Following intermission, “The Feature Presentation” Jay Garland addressed the IZW fans, informing them that he had been temporarily blinded by the fireball thrown at him by new Unified champion Dean Radford two weeks ago. Garland stated that he’s currently lost 80% vision in his right eye, and 43% in his left. Dean Radford appeared in the ring, and was less than remorseful when he attacked Garland . Several wrestlers made their way out, including a rare in-ring appearance by the retired “Fearless” Jack Bull. Jose Guzman, a young wrestler who’s been training with Garland and accompanied him to the ring, was left alone with Radford, leading to an impromptu match between the two.

Match #5 – NWA-Arizona Heavyweight & Impact Zone Wrestling Champion “The East Coast Killer” Dean Radford pinned Jose Guzman following a big boot in under 3 minutes in a non-title match.

Match #6 – “The King of Phoenix” Payed Daily defeated “Lord” Lars Fleischmann. Fleischmann had originally pinned Daily with a roll-up out of the corner, but NWA Representative Greg DeMarco restarted the match after claiming that Fleischmann allegedly held the ropes during the pinfall (despite the fact that everyone in the arena saw that Fleischmann used the rope for balance, releasing his grasp prior to Ryan Castelucci’s three count). Fleischmann argued with DeMarco when the match was restarted, and Daily pinned Fleischmann with a school-boy roll-up (and a handful of tights).

Match #7 – Erica D’Erico pinned “Sweet” Liz Sassi to become the first ever NWA-Arizona Women’s Champion by reversing a victory roll into a roll-up of her own, with an assist from the top rope.

Prior to the second half main event, Ring Announcer Johnny Roxx informed the fans that due to the legally binding “divorce agreement” signed by both members of The 602 Wrecking Crew, Jacob Hertzberg was officially the sole holder of the NWA-Arizona Tag Team Titles.

Match #8 – IZW Impulse Champion “The Irish Hand Grenade” Marty Murphy & “El Cholo” Mike G defeated “The Great” Ryan Lynch & NWA-Arizona Tag Team Champions Jacob “The Riot” Herzberg when Murphy pinned Lynch with the TK602. Herzberg was in position to break-up the final pinfall, but elected to stare down his former partner during the pin.

IZW/NWA-Arizona returns to The Sets in Tempe on Tuesday, June 16. Don’t miss a minute of the action as we see the fallout from this week’s events, including an appearance by the newly crowned NWA-Arizona Women’s Champion Erica D’Erico!

FSW RESULTS/DEBUT OF THE ELITE EXTREMISTS

FSW ran the first local wrestling show in Las Vegas in more than 10 years. More than 200 people braved the scorching heat inside the Rancho Swap Meet, to see an exciting day of professional wrestling. The show started off with a student showcase featuring VCW Wrestling School students, Tommy Danja, Kid Showtime, and Fenix Alexander. The crowd was rockin at the kids did not disappoint. An excellent match that far exceeded everyone's expectations. Kid Showtime came out victorious in his first ever professional wrestling match. We had an 8 man tournament to crown our first champion. Due to a no-show, local wrestler The Trucker Nick Tucker was placed in the tourney against Malachi Jackson. The youngster held his own, but fell victim to the Young Bucks, lil brother. Former ECW Superstar Derrick Neikirk and his band of Extreme Elitists proved to much for Tyson Tyler. Tyler, an excellent wrestler had the crowd behind him, and put on a great effort. There is no doubt, we will be seeing more of Tyson Tyler in FSW. Next up was the Royal Invitational with a spot in FSW on the line. 13 men entered, when it got down to the final 6 things got interestling. Splat Pack member Tank, well over 450 lbs, who had single handedly eliminated 5 of the first 7 wrestlers and had chokeslammed the Junk Bond Trader right out of the ring, got gang rushed by 4 of the boys and the crowd popped huge after his elimination. The match got down to local favorite Legacy and Vegas' Scotty Eyce. After some back and forth action, Legacy prevailed an earned a roster spot in FSW. Lucha match was next between Cyanide/Vintage Dragon against Capitan Calico/El Juenta. After Cyanide and partner prevailed, Mean Martin and Tank of the Splat Pack bumrushed the ring and tried to destroy the Luchas, until Capitan Calico came back wielding a chair to scare off the Splat Pack. Border Patrol Mike Modest advanced and Ring of Honor's Kenny King prevailed in a great match with Extreme Elitists GQ Gallo, but after the match was destroyed by Gallo and Neikirk.

"ELITE EXTREMISTS"

In the semi-main event of the evening the Young Bucks showed why they are considered one of the best tag teams in the world. Wrestling their arch rivals the Cutlers, the match heated up and the Vegas crowd was in a frenzy. The Young Bucks came out victorious this time, rumor has it a rematch has been signed for July 12th and the Cutlers vow revenge. In the main event, as it looked like Derrick Neikirk was about to win the belt, injured Vegas superstar Funny Bone, who earlier was threatened by Neikirk and crew, came back on the ring apron, spit water in Neikirk's face, which allowed Kenny King to put away Neikirk and become the first ever FSW Heavyweight Champion.

WCWC's DoubleShot Weekend was arguably the most shocking, controversial and, most of all, memorable 48 hours in the history of the promotion! Fans in Springfield and Independence were treated to some of the finest wrestling action in all of Oregon, as well as some of the biggest surprises the WC has ever seen!

Springfield Results, 4/18/09
#1 ... WCWC Lightning Division Championship Match: Mike Santiago (Champion) vs. G-Shock went to a time limit draw.
*The Franchise Player was signed to replace top contender "Meanstreak" Mike Dempsey, who was still recovering from his participation in the grueling "Wrestling With Hunger" event in British Columbia. After a taxing match, fans were disappointed when the 10 minute time limit expired. A frustrated G-Shock demanded a rematch for the next night in Independence, which Santiago eagerly accepted.

#2 ... Draven Vargas defeated Kellen "The Hellion" Raeth
*Private Parker was previously scheduled to take on "The Hellion," but travel issues prevented the Delta Force member from leaving South Carolina for the event, prompting Vargas to take his place "in the name of America." It looks like "Patriot Power" helped out in Vargas' effort against the man from Washington State; Vargas dropped Raeth with the
THC for the victory!

#3 ... Kyle Matthews defeated Dr. Kliever by DQ
*Kyle Matthews came all the way from Atlanta, Georgia to compete here in the WC, but he had a tall order ahead of him as he took on a man who was bigger than him by at least 7 inches and 50 pounds. The "Lean, Mean, Green Love Machine" was determined to prove that he would do anything to regain the WCWC Championship, but Matthews surprised the big man (as well as the fans) with his tenacity and his arsenal of high-flying moves. Frustrated with his inability to put his opponent away, Kliever gave Matthews a pair of blatant low blows right in front of the referee, forcing the disqualification.

#4 ... Stoney McHogan defeated Jason Jackson

*Back by popular demand, WC's resident chameleon donned the red-and-yellow one more time! "HippieMania" was definitely running wild in this match, as Stoney took out Jackson with his signature leg drop for the win!

#5 ... Domestic Partnership defeated Draven Vargas & Kyle Sebastian

*With one win already under his belt for the night, fan favorite Draven Vargas pulled double-duty in Springfield and partnered with Kyle Sebastian against arguably the most controversial tag team in the history of the WCWC. With manager Brian Zane in their corner, Bobby and Deryck continued to leaves the mouths of fans agape with their pre-match antics. Once the actual wrestling began, the unorthodox duo took it to their opponents. In a sudden turn of events, however, the team of Vargas and Sebastian made a dramatic comeback and had the Partnership on the ropes! Just as momentum was on their side, however, Zane asserted himself into the match and pulled Sebastian off of the apron!
Incensed, the high-flyer ran after Zane to the backstage area, but left his partner
high and dry in doing so. Bobby and Deryck took advantage of Vargas' sudden handicap and took him out for the win.

#6 ... Dash Venture defeated Exile

*Standing at nearly seven feet tall and weighing more than 300 pounds, The Man They Call Exile was considered an easy favorite to win this contest. But in an intense match, Venture scored a major upset against the big man!

#7 ... WCWC Tag Team Championship Match: Bolo & Mike Santiago defeated Erik Baeden & "Gentleman" George Michael and G.Q. Gallo & Mike Modest (Champions) in a Three-Way Dance.

*With Shoot 2 Kill member Dustin Snyder still MIA, Baeden selected George Michael as his replacement in this exciting three-way dance. In the end, the tandem of Bolo & Santiago scored an impressive victory, wresting the Tag Team Titles from Heavyweight Champion Gallo and his partner Modest!

Moments after the night's scheduled main event ended, an impromptu one began! Just as G.Q. Gallo was recovering from his loss, "Gentleman" George nailed him with the Royal Flush and made a cover! In a shocking move, Commissioner JT Allen entered the ring and counted the 3!

#8 ... WCWC Championship "Match": "Gentleman" George Michael defeated G.Q. Gallo (Champion)

With the crowd looking on in disbelief, the new Champion explained that he was merely taking Gallo up on his offer to defend the title "any place, any time," and just so happened to have the Commissioner in his back pocket all along! After recovering from his back-to-back losses, Gallo declared that he and Modest would hunt down Michael and Allen, and promised to take them both out very soon!

Independence Results, 4.19.09

#1 ... Bolo won the Double Threat Rumble to become the new #1 Contender for the WCWC Heavyweight Championship.

*In a previously-recorded telephone message, newly-crowned champion "Gentleman" George explained he wouldn't appear at Central High School because he "doesn't do charity shows." That didn't stop the rest of the WCWC roster to try and stake a claim at his title. Before the Double Threat Rumble began, co-owner Jeff Manning assigned Mike Modest
to be a special guest referee for the match! Manning's move led to some interesting
situations, as Modest physically involved himself on more than one occasion, attacking Erik Baeden and causing him to get eliminated! In the end, Bolo tossed Bobby of Domestic Partnership out of the ring to become the new #1 Contender to George's Title!

#2 ... Dr. Kliever defeated Draven Vargas

*Kliever made it clear the night before in Springfield that he wanted "his" WCWC Championship back by roughing up Kyle Matthews in one-on-one action, and on this night, he did the same thing to Draven Vargas. The man from Detroit, Oregon simply couldn't keep up with the big man and had his shoulders pinned to the mat for the three-count.

#3 ... Kellen "The Hellion" Raeth & Jason Jackson defeated Delta Force

With Raeth and Jackson still on their "probationary period" to become the newest members of Z-Man Enterprises, they did everything they could in this match to impress Brian Zane, who looked on from ringside. The soldiers put forth a valiant effort, but their attempt to claim a victory was quashed when Zane got up on the apron to distract referee Scott Stevens. Jackson and Raeth knocked Lt. Freedom off the top rope and hit him with a double-team move to seal their victory and earn more points with the "Z-Man."

#4 ... Domestic Partnership vs. Kyle Sebastian & Kyle Matthews was declared a No Contest.

*Kyle Matthews spent most of his time in this match being picked apart by Bobby and Deryck, unable to reach Sebastian and make a much-needed tag. But just when things looked their bleakest, the young man from Georgia was able to ward off the Partnership and finally tag in his partner...then THAT'S when things looked their bleakest. In a shocking move, Sebastian turned around and leveled his own partner with a superkick! As the fans were trying to comprehend what had just happened, Sebastian revealed that he became the newest member of Domestic Partnership! Bobby, Deryck, Kyle and ringleader Brian Zane
were showered with boos and a variety of derogatory comments as they celebrated all
the way back to the locker room.

#5 ... WCWC Lightning Division Championship Match: G-Shock defeated Mike Santiago (Champion)

*In a rematch from the night before, G-Shock vowed that he would finish the job he started in Springfield as he took on double-champion Mike Santiago. It was an exciting, high-flying affair that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats, but in the end, G-Shock stole the victory from Santiago, and claimed the Lightning Division Title for the very first time!

#6 ... G.Q. Gallo defeated Dash Venture

*Gallo had a lot to prove in this match as he tried to bounce back from losing both the Heavyweight and the Tag Team gold within mere minutes of each other the night before; meanwhile, Venture also felt he needed to keep the momentum he had built up from Saturday's upset victory against Exile going with a win over his opponent in Independence. With both having a lot of personal pride riding on this match, it had the potential of being a long night with neither man wanting to relent. In the end, however, Gallo capitalized on the
smallest of mistakes made by Venture, and regained some confidence with a much-needed win over the man from Washington!

#7 ... Erik Baeden defeated Mike Modest

*This contest was considered a rematch from their encounter back in March; many who were in attendance that night say it was one of the better technical contests they had seen in the Pacific Northwest in quite some time. But those who were looking for a vast array of holds and counter-moves may have been disappointed, as this rivalry has practically reached a boiling point. Baeden, quick to remember Modest's costly interference in the Double Threat Rumble earlier in the evening, was out to hurt his opponent on this night. But Modest hung in there against the former Tag Team Champion, matching one
blow with another. As Modest had his opponent in his sights for one last devastating move, Commissioner (and ring announcer for the evening) JT Allen inserted himself into the match, grabbing Modest's leg! This distraction was just enough for Baeden to gather his bearings and hit his opponent with a ruthless German Suplex, which was enough to keep Modest down for the three!

Just as Baeden and Allen celebrated their teamwork in the ring, G.Q. Gallo stormed into the ring and brought the pain! The now-former Tag Team Champions went to work on their two adversaries in the ring and made it known that they wanted revenge! Just how soon will they get it? And what role will Bolo, the new #1 Contender, play as "Gentleman" George Michael and JT Allen gather their troops? NEIKIRK VS. GALLO UNIFIED CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

On December 16, 2008, at The Sets in Tempe, Arizona, GQ Gallo decided it was time to issue an open challenge. Fresh off of a victory against “The Irish Hand Grenade” Marty Murphy, Gallo had taken the microphone and was demanding competition. He had defeated every challenger the IZW Board of Directors put in front of him. His one shot against The Navajo Warrior has come and gone, and no rematch is being granted. But Gallo wants competition--he craves competition. Enter Derrick Neikirk.

A lot has changed since Derrick Neikirk has seen active competition in IZW. The name on the marquee is now NWA-IZW. The IZW Heavyweight Title has been unified with the NWA-Arizona Championship, and both belts are held by a familiar face in GQ Gallo. Neikirk and Gallo once joined Mike Knox and Frankie Kazarian as The Heat Squad. Their battles teaming with each other, and against each other, have been legendary. It was only a matter of time before their paths crossed again.

Derrick Neikirk himself knows how it feels to win the IZW Heavyweight Title. He won the belt from Mike Knox on June 6, 2004. And almost immediately had it stripped from his grasp. Since that date, Neikirk has seen success in IZW, Deep South Wrestling, Florida Championship Wrestling, and in ECW. Now, Neikirk is back in IZW, and wants another chance to hold the title he feels was wrongly taken away from him.

Neikirk kept his response short and sweet. Gallo wants competition, and Neikirk is all the competition Gallo needs. With one simple answer, Neikirk catapulted himself to the top of the ladder, garnering a shot at the Unified Championships on December 30 (his in ring return to at The Sets). Now, with less than 14 days to prepare--and the winter holidays cutting into more training time--two of the fiercest wrestlers in Arizona wrestling history will meet face to face, with the biggest prize in the West on the line. Can Gallo defeat Neikirk, and cement his position as one of the most dominant champions in IZW history? Or can Neikirk regain the IZW Championship, which has been so elusive in his career, and grab the NWA-Arizona Championship at the same time, adding this most prestigious pair of championships to his already impressive resume?

Lucha Reigns & Black Dragon survived a 10-man battle royal; as a result, each man was selected by a teacher to represent them in the main event.

Lawrence Tyler & Payed Daily defeated Elite Industry's Derick Neikirk & B. Brian Barnett when LT pinned Barnett.

Sassi pinned Erica D'Erico.

Doink the Clown beat The Great Ryan Lynch in a non-title match.

Native Blood beat Shane Haste & Jack Bonza (with C. Edward Vanderpyle) when G. Q. Gallo pinned Bonza.

In the main event, Lucha Reigns pinned Black Dragon with a moonsault. As a result, Principal Johnson shaved a mohawk on the head of Mr. Phil.

IMPACT ZONE WRESTLING RESULTS FOR 12/2/08
If you missed this past NWA Impact Zone Wrestling event, then you missed out on joining the IZW Loyalists inside the ring for the Pirate Party dance-off! The new NWA-IZW Tag Team champions Skull & Bones know how to throw a party, and they know how to host a dance-off as "Tequila" echoed through The Sets as all your favorite IZW wrestlers, fans, and referees danced in and around the ring. But the evening was not just about fun and dancing.

The opening contest saw "Feature Presentation" Jay Garland take on Nick The Fury DeMichael in a grudge match for having cost him the IZW Impulse title. However, DeMichael was no sitting duck, taking the fight to Garland. The see-saw match concluded after an exchange in which Garland hoisted The Fury for the Special Feature, but DeMichael shifted his weight and hooked Garland's arms for the Unprettier. But Garland broke free and hoisted him up again and hit an amazing Special Feature for the win!

Up next, the demented Johnny Manson had a large task on his hands as he faced off with Tyson Tyler of the Tyler Empire. Not surprisingly, the power house brutalized IZW's resident mental patient, but Manson withstood the beating and mounted a comeback after catching Tyson off guard with a jawbreaker. But being caught off guard would become Manson's own downfall. As Manson came off the ropes, Tyson caught him with an underhook shoulder slam for the three-count.

For the past several events, the luchadores have held their own against the Tyler Empire. This time they stepped into the ring with the eminence grise "XXX" Lawrence Tyler and "King of Phoenix" Payed Daily. Payed took a cheapshot at Mike to prevent a tag, but Mike G got even with an illegal kneelift as Payed rebounded off the ropes. Lucha & Mike doubled up on Payed, but eventually he tagged in LT who moved down both opponents. The Tyler Empire kept the ring cut in half to work on Mike's leg, but eventually, Mike tagged his fresh partner. Lucha almost finished off LT himself, but Payed stopped Hasta La Vista in mid-execution, allowing LT to pin him moments later.

IZW Impulse champion The Great Ryan Lynch with Nick The Fury DeMichael at his side defended against two-time former-tag champion Jacob The Riot Herzberg. Neither man has been above bending the rules to take an advantage, and their like-mindedness was evident as they were fighting outside the ring, telling the referee to shut up simultaneously. Nick DeMichael stopped the challenger's momentum by tripping him and pulling him under the ropes to motorboat him. Lynch's attempted the Clyncher, but Herzberg reversed it into a T-Bone Suplex, followed by a rolling clothesline. Herzberg went for a splash in the corner, but Lynch side-stepped him and hit the Clyncher for the victory.

After the match, it was the Pirate Party! After Miracle Mike James and Dread Pirate Bernie entertained the crowd, "The Voice of Impulse" Greg DeMarco attempted to interview the new champions, but Erica D'Erico interrupted to tell them how proud she was of their victory, but she had to attend to her own business. As she left the ringside area, she crossed paths with the Tyler Empire as they headed to the ring collectively. After a verbal altercation between Lawrence Tyler and MMJ, Skull & Bones accepted the Empire's challenge for their first title defense at the December 16th show at The Sets.

Following intermission, "Everybody's Favorite Brazilian" Antonio Mestre took on Hawaiian Lion. These two men have crossed paths multiple times in Impact Zone Wrestling, starting with Mestre's IZW debut, and every match has been equally fierce and competitive, and this match was no exception. During the contest, Beaver Las Vagas led Dean Radford to ringside through the crowd, just as Lion delivered a stiff Enziguiri kick in the corner. But Beaver and Dean prevented Lion from following up, so when Lion's attention turned back to his opponent, he walked right into a Pele kick and Mestre emerged victorious.

Finally, it was time for the main event of the evening in which IZW Heavyweight champion and NWA Arizona champion "The Institution" G. Q. Gallo met Dean Radford with Beaver Las Vagas in his corner. The two men went at it like a fight between attack dogs, but as Gallo was about to emerge with the distinct advantage, things went awry on the Football Kick. Radford rolled out of the way, and Gallo spilled to the outside through the steel barriers.

Dean Radford got him back inside, but he was unable to put away the champion as the match continued. At one point, Gallo had an opportunity to hit the Spear, but Beaver Las Vagas tripped him from the outside. The East Coast Killa capitalized, lifting Gallo in a fireman's carry, but the referee took a foot upside the head inadvertently. Hawaiian Lion immediately recognized the opportunity, coming back inside with a Shining Wizard for revenge. Then, G. Q. Gallo got back up first and watched as the challenger staggered back to his feet, at which point he nailed Radford with a Spear to retain the titles.

Unfortunately, Navajo Warrior was nowhere to be found the whole night, and he has not responded to the IZW Board of Directors. Whether it is a cunning plan to lure Gallo into a false sense of security, or if it is proof that Navajo knows in fact he cannot beat Gallo is a subject to debate. Conversely, there are no mixed signals between Lion and Radford as they are burning the wicks at both ends. Another encounter between the two is only a matter of time.

10:49am, November 13 (Seat 5H on US Airways to San Juan)

The latest Japan tour was an interesting one to say the least. It started out with the Pro Wres Expo events that were produced by Freebird International (FBI Japan) at Sumo Hall in Tokyo. Unfortunately, these shows were doomed from the start. The economy is getting worse and worse and pro-wrestling in Japan has been on a decline since 2004. Its not that pro-wrestling is bad or the fans are turned off, there are just way too many companies and it thins out the attendance.......

I was thrilled that I could book Ricky Landell, Ricky Reyes, Alex Anthony, and referee Mike Kehner from 3KWrestling. Landell was chosen by Mr. Ono after he saw him wrestle Kirby Mack at the Cauliflower Alley Club in June. Reyes became “Cuban Assassin #3” representing Cuba and Alex Anthony became “Alex Marley” representing Jamaica. Expo also brought Bambi Killer from Austria (who was in the best shape I ever saw him), Erik Isiken from Norway, Hartley Jackson from Australia, Paul Tracey from Ireland, Durango and Naruto from Mexico, some hump named Geronimo from wherever the piss he claimed to be from (more on this shithead later), a French guy named Henni who apparently has only been training for two months, and the worst of the worst Himalayan Tiger from Nepal.

Chono and First On Stage picked me to be the agent of the matches and to give instructions and finishes. I never thought that actually taking bumps and getting hurt would be easier then dealing with some of these people. I say some but really it was only four I had to shake my head at. And you have to keep in consideration that the French kid only has two months of training. But that is LA Dojo’s fault for bringing him over. It’s a shame because of how green the French guy was, Paul Tracey didn’t get a chance to show what he could do. Will that hurt him for future consideration for Japan tours? I hope not, but wouldn’t be surprised if it does.

The Himalayan Tiger was just awful. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t get to wrestle much but even giving him instructions was like trying to give instructions to a four year old with ADD. He was the laughing stock of the shows and I felt bad for him the first few days until I saw that he was only out for himself and not the show. Here is Chono, who has drawn more money then all of us combined, telling us to give it our best even though the house would be really small. But this guy just worried about himself and made a total ass of himself in the ring. Let’s hope these shows are not out on DVD.

Unfortunately one of the guys that were a bust was one of my 3KWrestlng guys. I will not mention his name but it’s just a shame what happened. It goes to show how far attitude can take you and how once you believe you are better then everyone it can blow up in your face. I helped this guy for years and at the end of the tour not only did he make me look bad but the ZERO1 office made me cancel him off the January tour where he was scheduled to wrestle in a major program. It’s been almost three weeks and I am still pissed off and heartbroken. Just a awful effort from a guy that I thought was better then that. Over the last seven years I have tried to help a bunch of guys and most of them let me down but I never thought this guy would do it. It’s a cruel business this pro-wrestling industry where friendships are ruined due to politics or money but this friendship is now ruined because of a lack of respect. Later I will explain to everyone that reads this how to get booked in Japan and/or Puerto Rico through me.

The last guy was a douche named Geronimo. I actually liked this kid and thought that he was getting the short end of the stick until he thought he would be cool, put on his internet muscles and bury me on his My Space page for something that I didn’t do.

This kid was one of the stinking points in practice and the first Royal Rumble. Once Chono-san saw him in practice he changed the third show match from Geronimo being in the semi-main event to the first match. He also decided to take him out of the second Royal Rumble and put him in a singles match with Osamu Namiguchi. Namiguchi is now a six-year vet but I think this kid thought he should have won which was not going to happen. He ends up having an OK seven minute match with Nami but it was due to Nami being able to make him look good. It was after that match and another awful performance by Himalayan Tiger that Chono took them both off the third show. Only the work of Kikutaro got Tiger back on the third show and I even asked both Kiku and Chono if we should put the Indian kid back on and I was told no. So what does this jackoff do? He writes a My Space blog burying me for taking him off the show! Is that what they taught him at the LADojo? I think not. Maybe next time you think about why you get taken off a show or passed up for a Japan tour maybe you should look in the mirror or watch a DVD of yourself and blame the person that really took you off the show…YOU. I hope you are happy now asshole that you got to speak your mind about something you had no idea about. And to think that Navaho Warrior and GQ Gallo didn’t get that spot when they would have been a million times better then you.

If wrestlers want to know why they are not in WWE, TNA, or a main spot in Japan they should take a look at the guys that are fixtures there. The TNA guys on the Expo shows (Shelley, Sabin, Daniels, & Young) ran circles around the gaijin talent except for Ricky Reyes. So next time you want to know why TNA is not beating down your door ask yourself if you look as good as these guys or can hang in the ring with them. Its almost 2009 and you need the cosmetic part as much as you need the in-ring work. I get 15-20 emails a day (yes, a day) of guys asking me to help them get booked in Japan and/or Puerto Rico and how many of them can take a look at themselves as say that they can handle it? Even while I am trying to get back into shape do I feel confident enough to email Jeff Jarrett or Vince Russo for a spot in TNA? Nope. Do these people think that Japan is going to throw tons of money to a guy that doesn’t have gear or work out or has an “I’m the best attitude”? Shit no. And it’s a shame that I have to say this because I was always the guy that would take VHS tapes and DVDs over to Japan no matter how bad the talent was. I figured it wasn’t my job to crush the dreams of guys but even if you do that you are a dick if you can’t get them in. For every Jake Manning, Heartbreak Express, Josh Daniels, or Kirby Mack that deserves a spot in Japan and/or Puerto Rico there is 100 other guys emailing about how good they are and how they should be there. It’s starting to make me freaking nuts. So from now on before emailing me or Charlie LeGrande or even ZERO1 think to yourself: Am I what the company could be looking for? And if not then you need to figure out what you need to do to get to the next level. Look like a star, get in the gym, get in the car and travel to as many shows as possible, and learn the styles. If you are unprepared in Puerto Rico and Japan (and TNA for that matter) you are going to get eaten alive and that is no one else’s fault but yours. Why didn’t I get a wrestling job with the WWE last year? Because I couldn’t adjust my style to theirs quick enough. Who’s fault is that? Vince McMahon? Johnny Ace? Nope, mine. I am lucky that the WWE was not my goal but if it was then I would be heartbroken that I let myself down.

For years, G.Q. Gallo was known as a top contender in Impact Zone Wrestling, traveling around the country and overseas to compete with the top wrestlers in the world. But one accolade was suspiciously absent from his resume: the IZW Heavyweight championship. Gallo finally earned the gold in an incredible effort during a five-way title match. Gallo had a hand in all four eliminations and his effort in the match should have left no doubt that he is the best in NWA Impact Zone Wrestling
today.

And yet, the man who proudly proclaims himself as 'The Institution of Professional Wrestling' has not carried himself as the best thusfar. Despite successful title defenses against Lawrence Tyler and Hawaiian Lion, the two most successful former-champions in IZW history, Gallo has had Navajo Warrior evade him to the point that of a role reversal where Gallo as champion has been chasing the challenger

The history between G. Q. Gallo and Navajo Warrior stretches further back than any two men in NWA Impact Zone Wrestling as the two have been tag champions, business partners, rivals, brothers, teacher/student, and more, but at this point, the IZW Board of Directors cannot afford to let them be opponents.

Before the title match began on July 15, 2008, Steve King established the rules and he made it clear that anyone from the back or anyone previously eliminated that actively interfered with the match would be suspended indefinitely. While emotion took over after Gallo outsmarted Navajo Warrior and pinned him, Navajo earned his suspension by brutalizing both Gallo and Jay Garland after his elimination. There is no question for the Board. Navajo Warrior should be suspended, and he is.

Unfortunately, enforcing the suspension has been another effort altogether. Navajo Warrior has purchased entry for the past few events, using the opportunity to twice blindside Gallo during the show. The only way to prevent his interference seems to be to schedule a match between him and Gallo, a decision which could cause the IZW Board of Directors to lose some of its authority.

Right now, this three-way power struggle has put the Board, Gallo, and Navajo Warrior at a stalemate, which greatly benefits Navajo Warrior. While Gallo exhausts himself in title defenses, always weary of another sneak attack, Navajo can sit back and scout his matches.

More importantly, Navajo Warrior is forcing G. Q. Gallo to do his dirty work for him by presenting an ultimatum: in order to have a match to settle their differences, Gallo himself must get Navajo permanently reinstated.

If he cannot, then there will be no title match between Gallo and Navajo Warrior. And Gallo will never feel like a true champion. And Navajo will never wrestle in IZW again. But the IZW Board of Directors would uphold absolute power.

Roseburg Armory: June 7, 2008

The fans in Roseburg were treated to a WCWC first: A STEEL CAGE MATCH! Tired of dealing with "Gentleman" George Michaels' attempts to cheat and weasel his way out of fairly defending the WCWC Championship, Commissioner JT Allen signed the West Coast Wrestling Connection's first ever steel cage match!

Match 1: Shoot 2 Kill "won" the Double Threat Rumble for $10,000 cash.
The classic WCWC Double Threat Rumble was held in Roseburg and the winner was to be presented with $10,000 cash. Participants can be eliminated by going over the top rope to the floor, of by pinfall or submission anywhere in the building.
Participants included: Kris Klash, Wildcard, Erik Baeden, JD Mason, The Notorious J-Rob, Draven Vargas, Dustin Snyder, Billy Jenkins, Bobby Jenkins, GQ Gallo, "Gentleman" George Michael, Ike van Dyke, Derrick Neikirk, Jason Jackson, Darin Corbin, Dr. Kliever, Cedric, the debuting Nik VanCore, and Moose. The end came when Baeden and Snyder were the final two left in the ring. They both left the ring together planning on splitting the prize money. Commissioner JT Allen explained that Brian Zane had asked him to sign a match with the two members of Shoot 2 Kill facing each other as Zane has been struggling to renw his contract with the team. Allen told the two they would face off immediately and the winner would win the $10,000. He also named Brian Zane as the special guest referee!

Match 2: Erik Baeden drew Dustin Snyder by Double Countout
As Shoot 2 Kill loves the big paychecks, they attacked each other with venom in every swing! It was a real hard-hitting match that didn't see either man gain an advantage. They were fighting outside the ring when Zane very quickly counted to 10 declaring the match a double countout. Infuriated by this, Baeden and Snyder quickly got back onto the same page and took Zane out with a huge Double Spinebuster!!

Match 3: Billy Jenkins def Bobby Jenkins
After Bobby betrayed his brother in Salem in April, Billy has been itching for revenge. He told Bobby that even though they were family, what he did wasn't right. The match started off slowly as the two felt each other out. Once they got going, though, they really took it to each other. Billy used his size and power to man handle Bobby, leading to a huge leg drop and the pinfall victory.

Match 4: Cedric, Dr. Kliever and Wildcard def Draven Vargas, JD Mason, and Jason Jackson
6 man tag action excited the fans in Roseburg. Sensing an opportunity to position themselves for a future shot at the tag titles, Draven, Mason and Jackson put on an impressive offensive display. The devious methods of The Franchise Players and Wildcard proved too much for them, though.

Match 5: Kris Klash def Darin Corbin
These two know each other very well. This was their first encounter in Roseburg. They wasted no time in attacking each other. The fans were blown away by the athletic display put on by these two. Darin Corbin pinned Klash, however, he continued to brutally attack him after the victory. After repeated attempts by the ref to stop Corbin, he reversed his decision and declared Klash the victor by DQ.

Match 6: GQ Gallo def Derrick Neikirk
After their match in Roseburg a few months ago, this was a serious fight. Referee JT Allen actually stopped and restarted the match as the two were fighting all over the building before the match could even get under way. The brutality didn't stop there. These two truly despise each other. It was more a fight than a wrestling match. Gallo hit Neikirk with a spear to pick up a 3 count win, but the fight didn't stop there. Derrick brutalized Gallo's ribs with a steel chair, leaving 2 of Gallo's ribs broken as he returned to the back.

Match 7: WCWC Championship: "Gentleman" George Michael def Moose
This match was an Escape Only, 15' high, Steel Cage Match! Once the door on the cage locked, it was on! Moose and George, one on one for the title. George took full advantage of being able to use foreign objects as he pummeled Moose with a sharp, metal object repeatedly. Moose's power gave him the edge, though. Sensing victory, he went to exit the cage, but Dr. Kliever rushed to ringside and slammed the cage door into Moose's face busting him wide open! With Moose incapacitated, George waltzed out of the cage to retain the WCWC Championship.

The Salem crowd were hoping to see Moose return as the WCWC Champion, and were angry to see "Gentleman" George Michael was still the champion. As George was victorious last night, the rematch will be tonight, and will be a Coal Miner's Glove Match! Commissioner JT Allen also updated the crowd that GQ Gallo had broken 2 ribs the night before in Roseburg and that he was working to clear him medically to compete, but was afraid he may have to stop Gallo from competing tonight.

Match 1: Dr. Kliever wins the WCWC Double Threat Rumble

Match 2: Darin Corbin & Wildcard def Jason Jackson & Moose
General Manager "Gentleman" George Michael wanted to give Moose an opportunity to "warm up" for their match later, so he booked him to team with newcomer Jason Jackson.
Jason Jackson impressed the Salem fans with his in ring prowess. The team of Corbin and Wildcard, though, proved too devious for a fair fight. This ultimately led to their victory.

Match 3: Bobby Jenkins def Billy Jenkins
After their first match against each other last night in Roseburg, these two still had unfinished business. There was no "feeling out" process today as the Jenkins family imploded! Bobby hit Billy with a low blow behind referee "Smilin'" Dave Jackson's back to pick up the tainted win.

Match 4: JD Mason, Mr. XY, Draven Vargas and Tony Terrific def The Franchise Players & Shoot 2 Kill by DQ
This was an 8 Man Elimination rules tag team match. Cedric and the Number One Contender, Dr. Kliever teamed with Baeden and Snyder to take on the RETURNING TONY TERRIFIC and his team. This was an intense match up that saw Cedric eliminated early, but JD Mason, Draven, and Mr. XY went soon after, leaving Tony on his own. This brought Cedric running in from the back. The Players and S2K started destroying Tony. The referee DQ'd the entire team as they would not stop the attack.

Match 5: Derrick Neikirk def GQ Gallo
Before the match began, Commissioner JT Allen stated that he was unable to medically clear Gallo, and as a result, would be canceling this match. GQ Gallo agreed to fight Neikirk in an unsanctioned Extreme Rules match. As both competitors agreed to fight in a non-sanctioned bout, it was on!
Gallo had his ribs wrapped up, and Neikirk relied heavily on his days in ECW to take advantage of that. This match saw chairs, a ladder, a barbed-wire baseball bat and a table! This was a level of hatred and violence the WC has never before witnessed. Neikirk won after hitting Gallo with a top rope RKO through a chair. After the match, Neikirk continued his assault as he cut off some of Gallo's hair. This brought both locker rooms pouring out! Moose was the last to run out, and the ring cleared as he entered. Kliever was the last to leave, just staring down Moose as he returned to the locker room.

Match 6: WCWC Championship: Moose def "Gentleman" George Michael
The loser of this Coal Miner's Glove match would not be able to challenge for the WCWC Championship for at least 60 days. This was a hard fought match that saw both men dig deep. After their cage match in Roseburg last night, both men were already beaten and bruised. Once the Coal Miner's Glove came into play, the action really heated up. This was a night that we will not soon forget. The experience of running a show outside of California was a first for Pro Wrestling Revolution and we have to admit, we had no idea what to expect. Many things had to be perfect in order for a show like this to actually happen and everything came together when it had to. It was great to see so much talent from many different areas of the world, all come together and put on a show that was nothing short of incredible.

The opportunity to work with many legends on this show and getting feedback was appreciated and absorbed as much as we could. Hearing ideas from legends like Harley Race, Nick Bockwinkel, Pat Patterson, J.J. Dillon, Ross Hart and so many more, is very special.

What put the “cherry on top” so to speak, for the event was the match between Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Go Shiozaki versus Pro Wrestling Revolution’s Oliver John. Going into the match, on paper, there was a big expectation for this match, but what ended up as being the result was a 5 minute standing ovation from all in attendance that ranged from fans to legends. That alone can tell you the magnitude of this match. This was definitely a Main Event anywhere… ANYWHERE. We look forward to a possible Shiozaki - John II taking place sometime again this year.

Sunday's (May 18) Pirana Promotions Lucha Libre show in Phoenix,AZ ended in total carnage!!!!

The main event, which pitted fan favorite Sergio Vega and the new P.P.L.L. sensation G.Q. Gallo against the hated team of La Migra and El Payaso Asesimo, almost ended in a riot!

Each team had scored a pinfall in a 2 out of 3 falls match.

In the deciding fall, Vega had launched himself out of the ring onto El Payaso.

Gallo and La Migra were tying it up in the ring when Gallo hit his opponent with a nasty superkick. As Gallo's back was turned, out from the back came Pirana, who Gallo had cleared from the ring the week before with a steel chair.

While Gallo was down trying to claim victory for his team, Pirana slid in and blasted him in the back with a steel chair so hard it bent the steel chair completly around Gallo. Vega tried to come in to help his partner and was laid out with another brutal chair shot.

La Migra and Pirana then proceeded to bash Gallo's knee with steel chairs taken from the audience. Playboy tried to come from the back and make the save, and was left bloodied in a corner of the ring. It took all security and then some to stop the vicious attack. Gallo, unable to walk, had to be carried to the back.

As of this moment, P.P.L.L.'s governing body has revoked Gallo's wrestling license until cleared by a doctor. This takes Gallo out of the running for the vacant P.P.L.L. championship; which was going to be given to the winner of the Lucha Battle Royal on June 1.

Gallo, willing to comment ALL too much, was understandably angered by this decision.

The room is divided roughly into two groups. On one side, a group of Anglos. On the other, Mexican-Americans and Mexican immigrants.

Each group is shouting. They are screaming for blood. They are passionate, and they are drinking beer. Lots and lots of beer.

But the 100 people are not shouting at each other. They are shouting with each other.

They are watching Jay "Mr. Showtime" Garland fight Lucha Reigns in a makeshift wrestling ring at a Tempe bar.

It's American-style wrestling vs. lucha libre wrestling, and this may be one of the places left in the Valley where people from both sides of the border celebrate what they have in common, even if it is wrestling.

"Coming to wrestling events, it's real easy to get along," said Glenda Jarboe of Tempe.

Jarboe was at the April event to watch her daughter wrestle yes, women also wrestle - and she, too, was struck by the camaraderie in the room.

"No fighting. Just people having a good time."

Lucha libre wrestling is the first cousin of the brand of wrestling made famous on this side of the border by the likes of Gorgeous George, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and the Undertaker.

Decades earlier, starting around 1950, it became widely popular in Mexico with iconic characters such as El Santo and Blue Demon. The sport remains a favorite today in Mexico, Central America and Japan.

It is different from American wrestling:
• Lucha libre emphasizes acrobatics more than strength.
• The wrestlers, or luchadores, usually wear masks.
• The matches are theatrical, with elements of comedy, drama and camp.
Juan Martinez, 38, of Phoenix, started watching lucha when he was a child in Mexico City. Now, he takes his children to matches in the Valley.

"I went when I was a boy," Martinez said. "I like lucha and the American. Now, my kids get both traditions."

On the second Sunday of every month, the Sets, a bar in Tempe, holds a lucha event.

Sport and spectacle

The matches occur sporadically across the Valley. They draw fans who love the sport and the spectacle.

Wrestlers come in from across the state, the Southwest and Mexico.
Most arrive an hour or two before the show. They gather and chat about life before heading to their dressing room - a curtain hung next to the ring, itself constructed in the hour before the fights - and change from their everyday clothes into costumes and masks.

Few lucha wrestlers will make a regular living in the ring. Many performances will net them $50.

But in the dressing room, their love for the sport becomes more evident.
The mood changes in the last moments, as the men and women get into character for their performance.

As they are announced for their matches the luchadores stomp out from behind the curtain and immediately stake their claim as either good guys or bad guys.

The fans cheer and hiss, and the only people having a better time than the fans are the wrestlers. The matches require incredible athleticism, even if they appear entirely scripted.

Another appeal is that the fans are part of the show. The fans respond to the wrestlers and the wrestlers to the fans. Everyone takes part in the theater.

So, when the fans yell at the luchadores, the men behind the masks may pause for a moment and yell back, or challenge the fan to enter the ring if he dares.

"Everybody has a good time at a lucha match," Jose Luis Yeo Santa Marie said in the minutes before he put on his mask and tight red leotard, which did nothing to hide the fact that he is 57 years old.

Still, there is no denying the physicality in the ring.

The body slams are real. The flying leaps are real. The jumping from the highest rope is real.

And the wood floor underneath the thin mat is very real.

"I've got really bad knees. A bad neck. Bad elbows. Sometimes, it all hurts," said Roberto Gallo who grew up in Prescott and now wrestles as the Ghost Walker or GQ Gallo.

'Too pretty for a mask'
Gallo is all muscles and long hair and white teeth. He looks like he should be posing for the cover of a romance novel holding a woman in her ripping bodice. He does not wear a mask.

"I'm too pretty to wear a mask," Gallo said, smiling.

He is half-Italian, half-Navajo and will frequently play up his Indian blood when he wrestles in places like Japan. Gallo, 29, who now lives in Chandler, got into wrestling eight years ago when he decided it was time to chase his dream.

Gallo does not speak a word of Spanish but says the language of wrestling is universal.

Shortly before his match, Gallo stood up slowly and grimaced as he grabbed his knee. He knew he was about to be asked why he does this.
"It's fun. You get to be a superhero," Gallo said. "Everyone wants to be a superhero. Right?"

Skinny and bespectacled
Lucha Reigns is a 25-year-old man who does not look like a wrestler. He is thin and wears glasses. He is announced as weighing 150 pounds, but that looks like a stretch.

The most wrestler-looking thing about him is a jagged scar that streaks across his abdomen. It's from a car accident.

But when he puts on his mask and steps into the ring, he reveals a feline agility and the ability to withstand a lot of pain.

In his match against the far heavier "Mr. Showtime," Lucha Reigns does flips and jumps off the ropes. He hits Showtime and then disappears.

The crowd loves it.

Ultimately, Showtime wears him down. Lucha Reigns is finally pinned with a move a veteran fan called "a variation of the octopus stretch," which seemed as good a name for it as any.

After the match, Lucha Reigns walks slowly from the ring. Each dramatic step lets the crowd know how badly he was hurt. On his way to the makeshift dressing area near the makeshift stage, he stops and signs his autograph for a young boy.

What he will not do is reveal his name.

It's part of the tradition of the sport to keep your mask on and your identity secret.

Lucha Reigns will say that he has lived in the Valley for 10 years. That he grew up in the United States and Mexico, and is an American citizen. He speaks both languages without accent.

Lucha Reigns works at Wal-Mart where he keeps his alter-identity secret.
"People don't know," he said. "I don't really talk about it. It's kind of hard to explain."

The fans at this event would understand completely.

Some look like they are thinking about their past. Others remain right in the moment. But for all the fans, Anglos and Mexicans, the differences between them seem to dissolve.

"I guess because we all love the same sport," Martinez said. "We have very much in common here. Tonight, this is our culture."

I came to the show on February 2nd, 2008. It was a good show, although I had a prior engagement which I had to leave after the Moose/Gallo vs. Dr. Kliever/GGM match. I've watched wrestling for about 25 years now. I was *very* impressed with a few of your guys... Moose, Gallo, Bolo & Cedric. Not taking away from the others, they were very entertaining. I haven't seen your entire roster yet, but these guys have a future in the big leagues.

ROSEBURG: A West Coast Wrestling Connection pro wrestling card featuring Douglas High graduate Ben Morrow, who wrestles under the name “Cpl. Moose,” is scheduled for Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Roseburg Armory.

GQ Gallo is a seasoned veteran of the independent scene in the United States, where he help runs Impact Zone Wrestling out of Tempe, Arizona. But in Japan, he is known by many names, including Ghostwalker, and the infamous Native American warriors, KATAKARI and HIZAKARI (Yes, he was both!) In 2004, KATAKARI was brought into Hustle as the Monster Army's personal assassin for Shinya Hashimoto. As Gallo will explain, his purpose was to literally EAT Hashimoto's injured shoulder! Later, Gallo returned to Hustle as KATAKARI's brother, HIZAKARI to dispose of Toshiaki Kawada's injured knee!

Stevie: "First of all, you've done a couple of tours in Japan. I believe your first tour was in 2002 working as the Ghostwalker, teaming with Navajo Warrior as Native Blood. How did you end up in Japan?"

Gallo: "At that time we were both working for Rick Bassman's Ultimate Pro Wrestling out of California. He had a working partnership going with ZERO-ONE to bring in his talent. One day, Hashimoto was there and saw us work against the Urban Outlaws (Mike Knox and Marshall Knox) and had us booked that night."

Stevie: "Were you a fan of Japanese pro-wrestling prior to going to Japan? Did it influence the way you worked here in the United States?"

Gallo: "I was a fan of Japanese pro wrestling, but more in the sense that I liked to watch it and wanted to go there; but at the same time felt intimidated because the tapes I saw always made Japanese pro wrestling out to be WAY tougher than here in the states."

Stevie: "When ZERO-ONE was created in 2001, it was a very straight laced organization, blending traditional pro-wrestling with mixed martial arts. In 2002, you began to see more of an Americanized influence. You guys came in a few months into 2002. How exactly did the fans react to your characters?"

Gallo: "They loved us! We got streamers in our first match, and the fans (who I was always told stayed respectively quiet) were loud and rowdy! they started doing our drumbeat and doing our war cry back at us! It was amazing; and I think even Ohtani and Tanaka were surprised by the reaction that we received."

Stevie: "Your first match in ZERO-ONE was against Shinjiro Otani and Masato Tanaka for the NWA Intercontinental Tag Team titles. What were your memories of this match? How were Otani and Tanaka to work with?"

Gallo: "I was so nervous! My first time out of the country, for titles, sold out Korakuen Hall pay per view, and against two of the best wrestlers in the world. Then the fans started screaming and we got going and it was like world war 3. It still is the most hard hitting, grueling match I've ever had; and still is one of my favorites to this day."

Stevie: "After a couple of years outside of Japan, you were brought back in 2004 for Hustle House Vol. 1 on 6/28/04. You were given the "KATAKARI" character. First of all, who came up with the gimmick? How exactly was it explained to you?"

Gallo: "It was given to me by DSE/HUSTLE!. They just told me that it was going to be a native-esque character. I had no idea what was really going on; I actually was told to bring my Ghostwalker gear. When I arrived in Tokyo I was taken to the PRIDE home office and given the outfit to try on. I was told that "KATAKARI" meant shoulder hunter and I was there to "EAT" Hashimoto's shoulder, which he was about to go to the states for surgery."

Stevie: "You worked the legendary Shinya Hashimoto in that match. Depending on who you ask, Hashimoto is either the nicest man you'll ever mean or completely unapproachable. What were your opinions of Hashimoto before and after the match?"

Gallo: "The Boss was always nice to me. Hashimoto always had a hug and a story or rib for me. That match is one of my favorites as well, and I felt privileged to be able to wrestle him in such a high profile show in one of his last matches. He was so easy to work, and the match was so much fun."

Stevie: "Kind of related to an earlier question, but what exactly were your thoughts on Hustle and the style it portrayed?"

Gallo: "I loved it! Some people said it was corny; but to me it was something Japanese pro wrestling was lacking. HUSTLE took straight laced wrestling, combined it with outrageous gimmicks and angles, and brought a new sense of FUN into Japanese arenas."

Stevie: "A couple of months after the match against Hashimoto, you were brought back to Hustle under the "HIZAKARI" character. How exactly did this differ from the KATAKARI character? Were you at all confused as to why they were bringing you back under a different character?"

Gallo: "HIZAKARI meant "knee hunter", and was supposed to be the twin brother to Chief KATAKARI. I was brought in this time to attack Kawada's injured knee. I didn't think it weird, only that KATAKARI was so much more over than his yellow-haired brother!"

Stevie: "In your second match, you teamed with The Monster C (Who may or may not be Steve Corino...) against Toshiaki Kawada and Taichi Ishikari. Months earlier, you were in the ring against Hashimoto, and now you were in the ring against Kawada. What were your memories of the match?"

Gallo: "Not as intimidating as wrestling Hashimoto; but still very nerve-wracking. I had watched a lot of Kawada's matches; and I thought he was going to kick the crap out of me! Ha ha! he was so easy to work. I had a lot of fun against him."

Stevie: "How did Hashimoto and Kawada differ in the ring?"

Gallo: "Kawada did a lot more kicks and was more of a newer-school type approach to his wrestling. Hashimoto was very old-school and deliberate in his matches."

Stevie: "You haven't been back to Japan since September of 2004. Is there a specific reason why you haven't come back to Japan? Would you like to return in the future, be it ZERO-ONE, Hustle or otherwise?

Gallo: "I actually was in Japan and Korea earlier this year for the USO; and I got to see a lot of Japanese workers I haven't seen since 2004. I haven't been back with ZERO-ONE since Hashimoto died. The company went through a lot of changes around that time, and a lot of us gaijin got left on the wayside. I love wrestling in Japan; and would go back at anytime without a seconds notice."

Stevie: "What's going on in your career right now? You're working a lot of out IZW in Arizona. Where else can we see GQ Gallo live?"

Gallo: "I wrestle for IZW (a company that Navajo and I both founded, along with American Gladiators Hollywood "Wolf" Yates) and train a lot of the guys there. I also work with the AWA, primarily in there Oregon territory, West Coast Wrestling Connection. I also work in Mexico and the surrounding areas around Arizona."

IZW & RPW Titles Unified on January 5 Greg DeMarco (The host of IZW Impulse)

A capacity crowd witnessed a history making even on January 5, 2008 at the Broadway Recreation Center in Mesa, Arizona as the NWA-Arizona championships were unified with the IZW championships in front o fa standing room only crowd.

It couldn't have been more fitting that the most important matches in Arizona wrestling history were contested in front of the most vocal crowd IZW or RPW ever witnessed.

The first unification match of the evening saw Arizona veterans Native Blood (Navajo Warrior & Ghostwalker) overcome the antics of the 602 Wrecking Crew (Jacob "The Riot" Herzberg & "The Irish Hand Grenade" Marty Murphy) to regain the IZW Tag Team championships and capture the vacant NWA-Arizona Tag Team titles. The rookies were impressive once again in the biggest match of either of their careers, but the veterans were too much for them to handle as Native Blood finished the evening with both tag team championships. Seeing Native Blood backstage, it was obvious they had been through a fight, and that this isn't the last time they'll have to deal with the 602 Wrecking Crew.

In the show's main event, "XXX" Lawrence Tyler successfully defended the NWA-Arizona Heavyweight championship (a title that he has never lost since August 12, 2006 when he became the first ever NWA-Arizona champion), and regained the IZW World Heavyweight championship for a record 4th time when he pinned "The Hawaiian Lion" John Williams. Both men pulled out all the stops in this outrageous battle, as Lion took the action into the stands, hitting "XXX" with several Lion Chops amongst the crowd in the bleachers. LT didn't hold back either, using brass knuckles to finish the IZW champion off and capture the two biggest titles in all of Arizona. If you thought Lawrence Tyler was difficult to deal with, his interview after the match proved that this is just the beginning for the Arizona's unified heavyweight champion, who promises to be bigger, badder, and more in your face in 2008.

In other news, "The New York Giant" AJ Summers pinned "The Feature Presentation" Jay Garland by flying 15 feet across the ring with a frog splash to win the IZW Invitational Tournament final that also included "Everybody's Favorite Brazilian" Antonio Mestre. For AJ, with just one year of active competition, this is a huge breakout win that will only propel him upward in his career in IZW.

Lucha Reigns pinned Mucha Reigns following a Springboard Shirinui, forcing his former partner to unmask in front of all of the IZW faithful that once rooted for the young team as IZW Tag Team champions.

Also, Lehi David Smith's rant in the middle of the ring was interrupted by Redrum (TNA's Rellik), who proceeded to destroy LDS, much to the delight of the sold-out Broadway Recreation Center.

8. Native Blood (Navajo Warrior & Ghostwalker) defeated The 602 Wrecking Crew (Jacob "The Riot" Herzberg & "The Irish Hand Grenade" Marty Murphy) to unify the IZW and NWA Arizona Tag Team Championships
9. "XXX" Lawrence Tyler pinned "The Hawaiian Lion" John Williams to unify the IZW World and NWA-Arizona Heavyweight championships
